Frequently Asked Questions:
How long has Health News Update been publishing?
• Since 1998.
I already give out free magazines. Why buy Health News Update?
• Health News Update is customized to appear as though it is coming from
your store, unlike magazines. Surveys indicate newsletters are read more
than other forms of advertising, including newspaper ads or magazines.
I want to get a quote from my local printer -- what information do they
need?
• Tell your printer you need a quote for a monthly newsletter on 11"x17",
two-sided, one colour (black) on 70lb stock (recommended), folded once,
supplied as a PDF file.
What will my exclusive sales territory be?
• The general rule is that you get your postal or zip code, plus any code
area bordering yours. However, larger areas may be negotiated in some cases.
Can I post the newsletter content on my web site?
• Yes. An HTML version, which may be e-mailed to customers, is also available.
Can I put my own store news on the back page every month? Does it cost
extra?
• Store info must be received by the 1st of the month PRIOR to the issue
month (ie, Feb 1st for the March issue). There is no charge if you send a
preformatted PC file (MS Word, EPS or PDF only). We can supply you a
template for use in MS Word, which is already the correct size.
I have more than one store - does it cost more for me?
• No, as long as all locations are listed on one imprint. If not, cost is
per imprint.
How do I know what will be featured in each issue? What if I don't carry a
featured product?
• A rough six-month outline can be supplied upon request, and will soon be
available in the "Client Services" area of this website. It is rare that an
up-to-date store won't have a featured product.
How many copies will I need?
• As a general guide, start out with between 8 and 10 times your average
daily customer count (ie, 100 customers per day = 800 to 1000 copies) and
adjust up or down only after a few months of using it.
Where should I display Health News Update?
• Experience shows that best place for the newsletter is right on the sales
counter. Put a copy in every customer's bag for best effect. If you like,
place more copies in a prominent place near the exit, using a magazine rack
or a literature holder, available at most office supply stores.
